Liz Laderman, PhD

Senior Outreach Economist

Liz Laderman is a Senior Outreach Economist in the Economic Education group in the Economic Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. She speaks to outreach audiences on current economic conditions, the economic outlook, and monetary policy. Liz also does research on household finance, small and new business finance, and small and new business formation and employment. She has published over 50 research papers and articles. Liz has a B.A. in mathematics from Grinnell College and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Stan Treger, PhD

Stan Treger, PhD

Senior Behavioral Scientist, Morningstar, Inc.

Stan Treger has been a Senior Behavioral Scientist at Morningstar since 2019. In his role, Stan conducts original experimental and survey research on the psychology of retirement. Prior to Morningstar, Stan was an Assistant Teaching Professor at Syracuse University, where he taught courses in Social Psychology and Personality Psychology; and conducted original experimental research on topics such as social interactions and technology use. Stan has published over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in a variety of social science journals and handbooks; and has presented over two dozen papers at national and international scientific conferences. He holds a BA in Psychology from Northern Illinois University; a dual MS in Social and Quantitative Psychology from Illinois State University; and a PhD in Psychological Science from DePaul University. When not conducting research, Stan is enjoying a good cup of coffee, playing his bass guitar, eating a fine burger, or exploring his favorite city: Chicago.

Doug Fritz is the Founder and President of F2 Strategy – a wealth management technology strategy firm in the Bay Area. Doug leads a team of wealth management executives focusing on frictionless operations, digital client engagement, performance and accounting systems selection and implementation, among many other areas. Doug is an industry thought-leader, faculty advisor to the Ultra High Net Worth Institute, speaker and advisor to Financial Planning’s In|Vest conferences, and contributor to publications including American Banker, Financial Times, WM.Com, RIAIntel, InvestmentNews, Family Wealth Report, Financial Planning.Doug also acts as an industry awards judge for Financial Times, WealthManagement.com and Family Wealth Report. Outside of the office Doug enjoys spending time with his two boys, surfing, climbing, and backcountry snowboarding.

Eduardo Repetto, PhD

Chief Investment Officer of Avantis Investors™

As Chief Investment Officer of Avantis Investors™, Eduardo is responsible for directing the research, design and implementation of our investment strategies, providing oversight of the investment team and the firm’s marketing initiatives, and interacting with clients.

Prior to Avantis Investors’ establishment in 2019, Eduardo was Co-Chief Executive Officer, Co-Chief Investment Officer and Director at Dimensional Fund Advisors LP (“DFA”) until 2017. While at DFA, Eduardo provided oversight across the investment, client service, marketing, and operational functions of DFA and oversaw their day to day operations, directed the engineering and execution of investment portfolios and was involved in the design, development and delivery of research that informed the firm’s investment approach as well as its application through portfolio management and trading.

Dr. Repetto earned a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology, an MSc degree in Engineering from Brown University, and a Diploma de Honor in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Eduardo is a Trustee of the California Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of the William F. Ballhaus Prize from the California Institute of Technology for outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Aeronautics and the Ernest E. Sechler Memorial Award for his teaching and research efforts.
